The Third Friday Colloquia: Essays in Music, curated by Colin McAllister in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts, showcases scholarship in the best sense, highlighting the power and range of human inquiry and creativity. Four times yearly, on Friday afternoons at the UCCS Downtown Center, UCCS faculty and select guests present creative work and research trajectories. Presentations begin at 4pm and last approximately one hour, followed by discussion.

Audiating Éire: sonifying my Irish dreams

This talk invites the audience on a sonic walk with me to Ireland between October 2019 and July 2020 where I assimilated my Deep Listening research into my newest pieces. I will demonstrate how my listening walks throughout the year fundamentally transformed my relationship to my instrument (the flute and electronics) and the way my artistic collaborations have unfolded.
