The Supreme Mystery
March 4, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The Supreme Mystery
Colin McAllister – guitar & Kelly Zuercher – piano
The French anthropologist and ethnologist Claude Lévi Strauss wrote that the invention of melody is “the supreme mystery in the sciences of man.” This concert celebrates the creation of melody through a variety of works from different historical periods. We’ll hear two concerti: the early 18th century Concerto in D Major by Antonio Vivaldi, and from the pen of British composer Richard Harvey, the thrilling and virtuosic Concerto Antico. Rounding out the program are works by Hildegard von Bingen, Joaquin Turina and Astor Piazzolla.
This concert is presented in the beautiful ambience of Broadmoor Community Church. Admission is free – a good will offering will be taken.
